Austria: arrestati 4 Pink Panther con bottino di furto a Montreux

Quattro membri della famigerata banda Pink Panther sono stati arrestati a Vienna con orologi e gioielli per un valore di 500’000 euro. Nel bottino c’erano anche 18 orologi, di cui uno del valore di 55’000 franchi, frutto di una rapina da loro compiuta a metà gennaio a Montreux (VD). Lo riferisce il quotidiano “Kronen Zeitung”, precisando che gli arrestati sono un serbo, due israeliani e un belga.

Austrian police arrest four ‘Pink Panther’ jewel thieves

Austrian police said they had arrested two Israelis, as well as a Serbian and a Belgian suspected of belonging to the notorious international “Pink Panther” group of jewel thieves.

The four men, aged between 35 and 40, were arrested last Thursday in a Vienna hotel and jewellery and watches worth about US$565,000 (RM2 million), police said.

The silver SLK 230 smashes through the front window of Gems Jewellers in Coventry, West Midlands, to kick off the audacious heist. Three robbers clad all in black then rush in behind the car, which was stolen and using false plates, while a fourth wielding a hatchet jumps out of the passenger seat of the apparently left hand drive car as its driver reverses it back out again.
