Fur coats worth €121,000 stolen from Ayia Napa shop

Fur coats and jackets worth €121,000  were stolen from an Ayia Napa shop early on Tuesday morning. Police said that the shop’s alarm had gone off at 5.30 am, and the owner who lived in a building next to the shop went downstairs to see what was happening. On entering the shop, he saw that the fur coats were missing.

International crime ring believed behind jewellery theft (updated)

An international crime ring, members of which have recently arrived in Cyprus, appear to be behind the break in at a jeweller’s shop in Limassol early on Monday, police believe. “We are targeting a certain crime ring, which must have arrived on the island lately, and seems to have begun operating,” Limassol police chief Ioannis Sotiriades said at the crime scene. Jewellery of an as yet unknown value was stolen at dawn on Monday from the jeweller’s shop in Limassol.

Suspect in Paso jewelry store burglary is caught trying to flee the country, police say

A man who’s allegedly part of a band of thieves that’s suspected of stealing millions of dollars in jewelry from stores across California — including Siegel’s in Paso Robles — was arrested at the airport in Los Angeles while trying to flee the country, police said.
Los Angeles and Santa Cruz police arrested Roman Petre, 28, of Anaheim on Aug. 24 at Los Angeles International Airport while he was trying to travel to Romania, according to a Paso Robles Police Department news release…..

Man jailed over Regent Street jewellery store moped raid

A moped robber who targeted a jewellers in Regent Street has been sentenced to eight years in jail.

Jamie Farrell, 31, of Islington, north London, was among a gang of six men on three mopeds and a motorbike armed with sledgehammers and knives who arrived at a Watches of Switzerland store in Regent Street on June 5 at 10.20am, Scotland Yard said.
